Spring Flowers

The best thing about experiencing our first Spring in a new house is the surprise of all sorts of spring flowers blooming. First came the pink hyacinths, then the yellow daffodils, and lastly, pink and purple tulips blooming most recently. I've never had tulips, and now that I do, I think they're the definition of Spring. Once I realized how many we had coming, I was anxiously awaiting the right time to pick them and put them in a tall vase.

Unfortunately. Addy wasn't aware of my plans when she decided to pick some tulips while playing outside one day. She came bursting in excitedly holding 7 tulips with stems about 3" long.

I wanted to be angry, but the smile on her face wouldn't let me. There are plenty of tulips left to pick with proper long stems, and I believe I made the best of things:

This now greets me at the front door, and I can't help but smile.
